Happy Birthday TK!
Can you believe 2006 was so long ago? Crazy. Personally, having been in a time capsule from 2007 to 2009, I regularly feel confused by the date - how did we get to a new decade already?
I suppose TK's birthday was actually back on the 21st of February, but I only just realised, and thought now was as good a time as any to celebrate. I also wanted to take the chance because it's probably the last full year of TK - I expect by this time next year, Runt and Candy's adventures will be wrapped up and finished with. Sorry, but it's getting to be time for me to try new things.
Speaking of new things, as part of the birthday celebration, I'd like to announce a brand new comic: Totally Crossover. Someone mentioned a spin-off in the comments section last week, and they were actually right!
Totally Crosssover is a crazy new one-year project that might well kill me, as it means more than doubling my current comic output. The premise is simple: gaming webcomic. But I've always been one who enjoys telling stories, so I decided to mix up the formula a little. The story follows dear old Commander Shepard, who in this incarnation is an arrogant jerk, as he travels across the galaxy, building his super-team. This team will consist of the stars for eleven major game releases in 2010 - one every month.
But it's already March, so I'm a little behind. That's why I'm participating in March Madness, a fun challenge where I draw a new comic every day in March. Totally Crossover will update every weekday, and Totally Kotor will continue updating every Monday and Friday. Totally Heroic will update when I can be bothered (which isn't very often).
So, yay! Happy Birthday TK, and Happy Birth TC!
Drew Karpyshyn T Shirt
What kind of faithful Bioware fan would I be if I couldn't display my allegiance on my chest?
See, after watching the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer on continuous repeat for several days, it dawned on me that my love of Kotor has grown from being "I love this Star Wars, and RPGs are great" to "I love Bioware, and Star Wars is a fun setting for one of their epic stories". This change being the case, I felt I could no longer call myself a Star Wars fanboy, and decided that I needed to start telling people that not George, not Joss Whedon, but in fact, Drew Karpyshyn is my master now.
Who's that, you ask? He was the lead writer on Mass Effect and one of the lead writers on Kotor. He wrote the Darth Bane novels and the Mass Effect novels. He's the man. The next convention I go to, I'm wearing this T-shirt to tell the whole world which flag flies in my house.
If you feel the same, you're welcome to buy one too.
I think I'll try again at making some fun T-shirts, so maybe I'll make some cool new designs soon. Any suggestions?
It's been a rough day...
They happen every now and then. Sad thing is I haven't been awake for more than three hours, but it's already a tough day.
So it was nice to discover this out there on the internet. I'd like to thank whoever made it, as it cheered me up a bit.
That is all.

A New Year, and New Exciting Stuff!
Dear all (that is to say, all five people who actually read my rare news posts)
As we come to the end of yet another exciting year, it's fun to look back at what's happened to us, and how we've grown. This year, Totally Kotor mostly grew by going on hiatus for half the year. Hmm. That wasn't really growth, it kinda took us all back a few steps. But we're back and ready to go on with the adventures!
2010 will be an exciting year for me and my comic adventures. My new super cool project is on the script and character design stages, and in a few months you might see something of it! In the mean time, TK is getting ready for the grand finale. I'm pretty interested to see what I'm going to do with the comic over the next few months.
The most important new development, however, comes in the form of me achieving one of my long term dreams - syndication. I'm not sure if it can really be called that on the internet, but it's basically the same thing. Some of you may have seen the site Crispy Gamer. It's a gaming news site not unlike IGN or Joystiq, but they've chosen instead of recieving advertising revenue from games companies, to feature ads from other companies, like fast food chains such as KFC. This is in the spirit of avoiding media bias, which as a media student I have to salute as a noble cause.
Anyway, why am I babbling on about this? Well, Crispy Gamer has a comics section of their site which features some of the great names of webcomics - names such as Scott Kurtz of PvP and Scott Johnson of Extralife (google 'em - I'm too lazy to link to their sites!) as well as a host of other really cool comics. Now TK has joined the ranks and is featured on the site - wahay! I'm pretty thrilled with this. It's all about the fortune and glory in the webcomics business! Fun fun!
So, feel free to follow the Crispy Gamer mirror for my comics - every now and then I'll include some comics that won't be included on this site, such as comics dealing with the release hype for The Old Republic. But we'll all have to wait and see about those...
So three cheers for the end of a decade, and good luck to you all in the not-too-distant future that is 2010.

In case you were wondering...
Wednesday's update was skipped because this is a comic about a fictional war, and November the 11th is in many countries a day of remembering the sacrifices of many brave men and women in real wars.
I was going to put up some filler kind of "Remember" artwork, but I got lazy and forgot. Sorry.
And here's to all those who have lost their lives in conflict, and to all those who wonder just what the point of all this killing is anyway.
24 Hour Comic!
Yes, ladies and gents, I did the 24 hour comic challenge. I started it on the 3rd of October and made the last few finishing touches tonight.
So no, I didn't sit down and draw for 24 hours solid. But I gave a crack at it, and I didn't spend more than 24 hours total, so I'm happy. Besides, it's not as important that I did it in 24 hours than that I now have 24 pages of glossy, shiny, happy comics to show off.
They'll be showing up on Totally Heroic over the next few months, updating Tuesdays and Thursdays. Which means that there's a Totally comic going up every weekday. Hurray!
I'll also be printing the Totally Heroic comic, should anybody wish for a real copy. I'm not doing it to make money, simply because I would like a printed copy myself and figured I should allow others the same chance.
I'm also selling ads for the comic at $5 for a fullpage ad, to try to lower print costs. Think of it as a donation so that everybody else gets the book a little cheaper.
If you'd like a copy of the comic, or want to buy ad space, check out the thread on the Totally Kotor forum, here.
Update Schedule!
Attention all! From now on, Totally Kotor updates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays! Hurray for Runt and Candy!
A New Era is Born...
In 2008, the Totally Kotor forum, found here, died a quiet death, slow, painful, and altogether rather dull.
Now, in the ashes of our beloved forum has risen a new giant! A new hall of justice which we may call our own, where the Great Ones of the universe can sit and talk about pie for as long as they want. All, hurry to the newly constructed Forum and enjoy yourselves!
(Seriously, everyone get on this. I desperately need the support!)
